Social Justice as a Spiritual Practice with Jasper James

Jasper James, a lifelong activist is bringing light, spirituality, and self-care to important public movements. Jasper is a former Billboard Recording Artist, a diversity equity and inclusion specialist, speaker, alternative health practitioner, inventor, and author.

As Co-founder of Activism Articulated, a crisis communication firm based in Sacramento, and the founder of Social Justice as a Spiritual Practice (SJSP), Jasper is a community advocate that was named as one of this years "Top 25 Black Change Makers" by the Sacramento Bee.

In this episode, Jasper shares about their own journey of leaving the Christian faith after coming out as queer and how they never stopped desiring a faith-based community. They started SJSP to help fill that void and to speak in activist spaces about self-care, compassion, empathy and connection.

Listen in for more information about Jasper’s creation of the Black Bill of Rights, and SJSP, and how these new tools can help create safety in our communities of color.
