What's Your Morning Routine?
What’s your morning routine? We all have one.
Hitting snooze on the alarm 5x is a routine, rushing out the door, grabbing coffee to go, these are all routines, but they might be UNINTENTIONAL routines.
But are there INTENTIONAL routines that you want?
I spent years WANTING an intentional routine, but feeling like it was out of my grasp. I’d stop and start, and then shame and judge myself for never being able to stick to it.
One thing that has helped me is checking in with how I WANT to FEEL.
I want to start a day feeling GROUNDED, CENTERED, and PRESENT.
So how do I do that?
By running through about 5 sun salutations, doing some extra leg stretches for my hips, and then meditating for about 30 mins.
Do I do this every.single.day, NO.
But do I do it most every weekday and don’t judge or beat myself up if I do less, YES!
Because LIFE HAPPENS! It’s the judgement, shame and fear that keeps us from trying again the next day.
Adaptation and adjustments are KEY!
The point is, I’m CHOOSING what’s best for me. Not just going on autopilot and letting my shame, fear and critical mind run the show.
Over the last 3 years of commitment to self and my mornings, I do feel more GROUNDED, CENTERED, and PRESENT, not just in my mornings, but in life.
