How To Self-Soothe
My mom sent me this picture yesterday. ❤️
I was in 7th grade and it was probably a school day.
Not so fun fact: I started refusing to go to school in 1st grade.
It was a daily battle until my mom started bribing me with Starbucks.
But the anxiety, depression, stomach aches, headaches and migraines happened all throughout my early school years and into adulthood.
I was miserable and I didn’t know why.
When I see pictures like this all I want to do hug that young girl. I want to reassure her, to tell her everything would be ok, to tell her she’s stronger than she thinks she is, to tell her that I love her and that not everyone hates her.
(Ok for real, there is that one girl but that’s because of her own insecurities 😏)
But most importantly, to tell her that it get’s better.
Because it does. It really does! ❤️
