Unexpected Healing In My Hometown

Did you know there's a National Measure Your Feet Day? And a National Pick Your Nose Day?! So weird, right?

While it seems like everything under the sun has a “National Day,” Saturday's title was particularly special to me.

It was National Podcast Day. ☺️

As some of you may know, in January of 2022, I launched a 30-episode podcast interviewing 30 different holistic healers about their work.

It's called the Wholistic Approach to Healing Podcast

During these episodes it was so much fun exploring topics like sound healing, yoga, functional medicine, holistic psychiatry, shadow work, tapping, inner child work, astrology and so much more!

What was awesome for me, was that during those six months I was having a blast interviewing and connecting with my local community

That's right, almost every person on the show is a mentor, friend, or colleague.

They're my healers.

Yes, I know the word “healer” can make some people a little queasy, but in this case, I am talking about people who specialize in a certain technique that helps let go of past negative experiences. That's it.

Anyway, the idea for the podcast stemmed from the fact that throughout my 20s I explored these holistic healing treatments firsthand, in my hometown, and got to know these healers. I went to various sessions trying everything I could to work through to my trauma and FEEL BETTER

This was when I found out Sacramento is a hotbed for holistic healing!

Since I grew up in Sacramento, and left two days after high school graduation with a promise to never return, I never thought this would be where I healed.

But it was.

For reasons I'll never understand, there seems to be a healing space on every other corner and loads of people dedicated to helping you process all sorts of pain.

Since then, I've felt called to share the valuable knowledge I've gained and SHOUT FROM THE ROOFTOPS about all the amazing, wonderful, powerful people I’ve met along the way!

That’s why the podcast was born.

It's designed as a free resource, like a directory of local, and some non-local, healers who work in-person and online. Some of these people are like family (and one literally is) so I feel honored to share them with you!

And while this is not a complete list, of course, it's a good place to start.

But, I get listening to 30 episodes can be a bit much so I’ve compiled a list of all the podcast guests, their specialties, and contact information.

Please, use these resources and share them so we can continue to spread education, awareness and hope that healing, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, is possible!

Plus, in my opinion, checking out a podcast and all its guests is way more fun than measuring your feet or picking your nose.  😁
