7 Book Launch Questions
In just 8 weeks, a big, five-and-a-half-year journey will finally come to an end.
My book—my memoir—Everything Makes Perfect Sense: A Journey Through Childhood Trauma, Healing, and Forgiveness, will be available to the public.
In preparation for launch day, my publisher, Warren Publishing, sent me seven questions about the writing process to help craft a press release.
And it got me thinking…maybe you’d like a little peek behind the curtain, too?
So, here’s what I’m doing: Starting today, once a week for the next 7 weeks, I’ll share a brief, honest answer to each question.
(Of course, if this isn’t your thing, no worries at all—you can click here to opt out of this mini-series. No hard feelings 🙂)
Question 1:
What inspired you to name your book Everything Makes Perfect Sense?
Everything Makes Perfect Sense, comes from a phrase first instilled in me by Dr. Chris Mathe. He was my leadership coach when I was just 22, and later became a mentor as I stepped into the work of becoming both a coach and a therapist.
Before 22, I honestly thought I was crazy. I believed something was seriously wrong with me, that I was a bad person, despite all the evidence to the contrary, and I criticized myself relentlessly.
But at 22, with Chris’s guidance, and through learning about psychology and human development, I began to realize something different: everything I did– all my thoughts, feelings, and behaviors– actually made perfect sense, given everything I'd been through in life.
Becoming aware of how childhood trauma and abuse shape us doesn’t excuse what we do, it explains it. And in that understanding, there’s space for compassion, which, to me, is the first step toward healing and self-love.
Next week, we’ll explore Question 2:
Your book revolves around self-empowerment, healing, and vulnerability. What inspired you to share your story?
See you then!
