What's Up With Your Nervous System?

Do you ever feel in awe of the human body? I sure do!

In the blink of an eye, if it senses danger, it increases your heart rate, oxygen intake, and body temperature. It instantly produces chemicals, hormones, tenses muscles, decreases your metabolism, AND shuts off part of your brain. It does this to prepare to fight an attacker, run away, or freeze until it's safe.

And all of this can happen just from a thought.

Let that sink in—just a thought.

Not an actual threat. Not a real emergency. Just the idea of something stressful is enough to launch a full-body, all-systems-go response. It’s truly brilliant.

Except if you’re trying to go to sleep.

Or take a test.
Or have a disagreement with someone.
Or drive a car,
raise a child,
go to work,
be creative,
or be in a relationship—with anyone.

I think you see my point…

Having a hyperactive nervous system is like having a helicopter parent running your life. We understand and appreciate their concern, but come on, we have to live a little too!

The worst part of having an overly zealous internal alarm system is how much it affects everything. Not just how we feel inside, but how we relate to the world around us—our work, our people, our bodies, our goals.

It’s exhausting.

Anxiety, irritability, PTSD, depression, mood swings, anger, behavioral issues.
Headaches, stomachaches, G.I. problems, eating and sleep challenges.
It even increases the likelihood of neurological diagnoses like ADHD and Autism being misinterpreted or intensified by chronic stress.

All of this has one thing in common: the nervous system is too revved up.

Which is why I am SO EXCITED to share this incredible tool I’m now offering that helps regulate your nervous system at the root level.

In all my years of studying psychology, therapy, and personal development, I was taught to focus on resolving past hurts, shifting thoughts, healing beliefs, and changing behavior. And don’t get me wrong—those things matter a lot.

But here’s the thing: it’s nearly impossible to process trauma or implement new habits when you’re constantly living in survival mode.

Sometimes, we need something to turn down the intensity so we can finally breathe, feel, and access the calm clarity that makes change possible.

And that’s exactly what this is all about.

The first thing to know is that this is not talk therapy, and anyone can do it.
You don’t need to say a word. You don’t even need to know where to begin.

All you need is a phone and a pair of headphones. 🎧

I’m talking about the Safe and Sound Protocol, developed by world-renowned neuroscientist Dr. Stephen Porges.

This isn’t just music therapy—it’s a nervous system tuning fork.

Through specifically filtered music designed to stimulate your vagus nerve and calm the autonomic nervous system, SSP helps your body come out of a chronic stress response and into a place of felt safety.

It’s gentle, powerful, and can be truly life-changing.

This isn’t a quick fix or one-size-fits-all gimmick. It’s a scientifically backed, Polyvagal Theory-based intervention that supports the body’s natural ability to regulate itself. And when the body feels safe, everything else becomes easier.

That includes:

  • Regulating emotions (aka fewer outbursts, meltdowns, or shutdowns)

  • Sleeping better

  • Digesting more comfortably

  • Building and maintaining relationships with more ease

  • Accessing focus, creativity, and clarity

  • Creating a deeper connection to your intuition, higher self, and sense of purpose

When your body finally gets the message: “You’re safe,” it doesn’t have to be on high alert anymore.
And that’s when healing can actually happen.

As someone who personally uses SSP, I can say it’s one of the most profound nervous system tools I’ve ever come across. I’ve felt the shifts myself—and I’ve seen them in clients, too.

One client told me after just a few sessions, “I didn’t know it was possible to feel this calm. I didn’t know this version of me even existed.”

And I hear that a lot. Because when we live in fight-or-flight for years (or decades), we don’t even know what’s on the other side. We assume that tension, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, and shutdown are just our “normal.”

But it’s not. And you deserve more.

This work is for you if:

  • You’re tired of managing stress and want a tool that works on a cellular level

  • You’ve done the talk therapy thing and are ready for something more body-based

  • You’re sensitive, overwhelmed, or emotionally reactive and want more control

  • You’re on a healing journey and looking for a way to go deeper—with more ease

It’s simple. It’s gentle. And it’s one of the most loving things you can do for your nervous system.
