When the World Feels Heavy, Here’s What To Do

Life’s been pretty stressful lately, hasn’t it?

All around the United States, folks are facing some tough stuff. People have lost jobs or seen crucial funding for farms, research, and humanitarian projects disappear.

Many are afraid for their lives—because of their gender, sexuality, citizenship status, or the color of their skin.

We’re witnessing information being erased right in front of us.

Personally, I’ve seen trauma survivor stories vanish from federally funded websites.

There’s a lot happening right now, and regardless of your political beliefs, the tension is undeniable.

It’s everywhere—in the rising costs of food and housing, in our workplaces, among neighbors, and even within our families.

With all of this swirling around, my encouragement to you is this: Focus on you.

I’m not saying to bury your head in the sand. I'm saying: take care of you.

You are the first step to any change that needs to happen.

Now is the time to align and nourish your mind, body, and spirit. ✨

✳️ Put down the phone.

✳️ Stop doom scrolling.

✳️ Get outside.

✳️ Connect with people face-to-face.

✳️ Get hugs.

Right now, we need people who understand themselves—who know how to navigate their triggers, lean on their strengths, and find comfort in their faith when things get tough.

We need people who can recognize when their nervous system is dysregulated—and who have the tools to bring themselves back to a place of calm. (And if you have no idea what that means, that’s all the more reason to learn!)

We can’t change the reality of the present moment, but we can shape the future.

And that starts by preparing ourselves—mentally, emotionally, spiritually—for whatever comes next. It’s about learning the right tools for you.

It’s learning what to say to your Inner Critic when it’s pulling you down a rabbit hole of negativity. It’s soothing your inner child when they’re terrified of the future and trying to make sense of the world.

It’s tapping into your capable Adult to lead the way.

Maybe it’s leaning on tools like astrology to understand why everything happening in the world—and in your life—makes absolute perfect sense.

Because with understanding comes clarity, and with clarity comes groundedness.

You are not alone in this.

The more isolated we feel, the more out of whack our nervous system becomes.

So, what can you do this week to take care of yourself? Maybe it’s start a new self-care routine, maybe it’s reaching out to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while. Perhaps is scheduling that consultation call with a therapist or a coach that you know could really support you right now.

Either way, you’ve got this. We’ve got this. And we’re doing it together.
